The Opportunity
Union Square Ventures, a NYC-based VC firm, sought a long-term partner to elevate their Annual Portfolio Summit by creating a memorable experience for over 100+ CEOs. While the brand is traditionally known for its prestigious investment philosophy, they wanted to create an event that felt welcoming and accessible to attendees, and fostered meaningful conversations and learning among the attendees.
Our Solution
We drew inspiration from USV's own ethos and its deep connection to New York, transforming some of the city—and the surrounding region's—most distinctive destinations into dynamic backdrops for conversation and connection.
From culturally vibrant Brooklyn and music-rich Asbury Park to the laid-back coastal atmosphere of Montauk, each summit takes on the character of its destination. Across five years, we have transformed a diverse mix of venues and woven in local culture to create experiences that feel distinctly of-the-place while remaining unmistakably USV.
Creative Implementation
The three-day summits are intentionally eclectic, pairing substantive programming with unexpected experiences rooted in each destination: a cocktail party in an exclusive art gallery with an appearance by the artist, an intimate performance at the iconic Stone Pony, or a late-night takeover of a vintage pinball arcade. Each venue, activity, and transition is thoughtfully orchestrated to create a sense of discovery while giving attendees space to connect beyond the formal program.
